Individual Consultancy-National Expert on Developing History Profile

Duties and Responsibilities: Insufficient research, documentation and literature on GLOF and other Climate Change-induced disasters in Northern Pakistan is one of the knowledge gaps in policy formulation, design and implementation of the interventions regarding GLOF Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation. The documentation of detailed history profile of the GLOF and other climate-induced major disasters in Northern Pakistan will be helpful to disaster management planners, researchers and practitioners for effective planning and management of natural disasters and will improve preparedness and resilience levels of the stakeholders and relevant organisations to respond to any such disasters in future.

The Pakistan GLOF Project seeks services of an Individual National Expert for “Developing a detailed history profile of the GLOF and other major disasters occurred during last 200 years covering all seven districts of the Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Province”.

Period of Assignment/Services: Three months from signing of the contract (90 days).
